Sima

Sima's story – Sima immigrated to Israel from Iraq in the early fifties and has always had a knack for anything to do with cooking, a business sense and Joie de vivre. In 1969 she founded a restaurant in Jerusalem's Agripas st., in Mahane Yehuda Market which proudly bears her name "Sima".

At first, the restaurant was based on Middle Eastern home cooking which satiated the huger of the market's laborers. Over the years the restaurants amassed a superior reputation, renowned for its signature dish "Me'orav Yerushalmi" (Jerusalem Mix) with its clientele expanding far beyond the capital's residents.

Today, Sima (the woman) is a grassroots Jerusalemite, grandmother and great grandmother, going from strength to strength and we hope she still is for many more years.
